Mystic Tan(TM) is a trademarked company that popularised the spray booth tanning concept. The tanning booth resembles a sauna or capsule. The client steps into the booth and then 30 seconds later exits with a gorgeous tan. These unique machines then clean themselves so they are ready for the next client.

The tanning process is simple, you simply disrobe, step into the booth, and at the push of a button you are sprayed with a fine mist of Aloe Vera enriched with Sunless-Tanning Solution.

This Sunless-Tan solution is similar to the solutions used in airbrush tanning which combine a bronzing colorant with DHA, a non-toxic sugar that attaches to dead skin cells and links to proteins beneath the skin. Advice prior to spray tan application

• Exfoliate - All the self-tanner in the world will do you no good if it attaches itself to dead skin that is about to come off your body! Use a good exfoliant and loofah sponge in the bath the night before you self-tan to remove these dead skin cells.
• Moisturize - This is one of the most important tips on self tanning... Follow up scrubbing with a good water based moisturizer, especially on the knees and elbows, which tend to be dryer than the rest of your skin. It is best to do this several hours before you apply the self-tan so that the moisturizer does not interfere with the self-tanner. Don't use lotions with oil in them or it may block the self tanning solution from penetrating your skin.
• Apply barrier cream to your hands and feet - Because these areas of the skin are usually drier than the rest of you, your hands and feet may get dark faster. Apply a light coating of cream to your hands and feet to filter the solution.
• Completely wipe off after applying your spray tan, you will need to wipe your skin with a towel to catch any drips.
• Choose your clothes carefully - Wear loose fitting clothing, preferably not white to avoid staining from the bronzer which is in most spray tan solutions.
• You will want to wait a minimum of 4-6 hours before showering or getting wet with water or perspiration. The colour will darken over a 24 hour period, giving you a nice golden glow!

Why do teeth discolour?
There are many causes. The most common include genetics, aging, consumption of staining substances, tetracycline (antibiotic) staining, excessive fluoride, and old fillings. Do I need to do anything prior to attending my appointment?
We advise that you brush your teeth to remove the salivary pellicle from the tooth surface as this can affect the result.

If you have sensitive teeth, we advise you to use a tooth paste for sensitive teeth 1 week prior to your appointment. This can reduce the risk of sensitivity.

What do I need to do following my appointment?
You should ensure that you do not brush your teeth for 24 hours after treatment as the gel is still active during this time.

Smokers are advised to refrain from smoking for 24 hours. If this is not possible then for at least 4 hours after whitening.

Clients may experience some degree of sensitivity during the 24 to 48 hours following treatment but this is normal and is a temporary side effect. In most cases it is mild to moderate but in a minority of cases it can be quite sensitive. If you experience extreme sensitivity you should call your technician.

Tooth staining foods have to be avoided for at least 24 hours after laser whitening but ideally 48 hours. These include:
